Vacation Bible School

Many children enjoyed Vacation Bible School, "Deep Sea Adventure" this past week. Many thanks go to Anne Smith, for pulling it all together!

The church is the body of believers, not the building where the believers assemble. It is the group with whom we marry our children, bury our dead, receive comfort in crisis, accept meals in sickness, partake of the Lord's Supper, learn about the character of God, become trained in doctrine, commune with Christ, fellowship with other believers, become discipled in the way we should walk, develop a personal ministry, honor God with our tithes and offerings, bring unsaved friends, hear the preaching of God's Word, express our spiritual gifts, raise our children in spiritual instruction, and take vows for which we are accountable.

Have you ever really considered the depth of the role your church plays in your life and the life of your family? A great need today is that Christians revalue the church - that they recognize the importance of membership in a vital body of believers. Supporting a local church through membership - not merely attendance - represents the most significant of the public spiritual disciplines. If we truly love Christ, we will want to be around his people. - Patrick Morley

Vacation Bible School 2010

Vacation Bible School

VBS will be held Monday through Friday, July 12th-16th, from 6-8 pm, at the church.

The final 2010 Spring women's book study was held on Tuesday evening, May 18th, beginning with a pitch-in. A great time of fellowship was enjoyed by all those women who attended. We really appreciate Susan Snyder for the gift of ministry she shares in leading us in this study.

Thanks so much to everyone who attended, made food, and participated in any way in making our recent pork chop supper such a HUGE success!
God has truly blessed West River with wonderful members, attenders, and a wonderful community.

Easter morning breakfast

We enjoyed a time of good food and good fellowship between our Easter early service and our regular Sunday School and Meeting for Worship.

Easter Sunday

We all brought fresh cut flowers, and placed them to cover the cross. This was inspired by the story, "Blossoming the Cross" from a recent issue of Guidepost.

Inspired comments were made by some of those placing their flowers, as to what the cross means to them.

This was a spirit-moving worship experience.

Thanks to Garry for constructing the cross, and Amy for beginning the "blossoming."
